Celebrity paparazzo Jamie Fawcett has denied he is a "pervert" after snapping actor
Mischa Barton sunbathing topless on holiday in Queensland.
Fawcett told The Daily Telegraph it was unfortunate that photos of her with cellulite on her thighs were published on the front cover of NW magazine.
He said he had taken some "nice" shots of the former O.C. star as well, while she was holidaying on Hamilton Island, near the Whitsundays.
But Fawcett said he did warn her about sunbathing topless when the two spoke to each other while she was on Henning Island near the Whitsundays.
"We spoke to each other on the island, and that's when I showed her my camera and I hadn't taken any shots of her topless," he said.
"I did warn her it was a public place, and if she wanted privacy she shouldn't be there.
"But it is a shame that publications tend to highlight an issue that is not fair to a young girl, and I wouldn't seek to publicly embarrass her with nudity or health issues or body image issues.
"However, sometimes these are the things that sell pictures."
Fawcett also said he did not deliberately aim to photograph Barton topless.
"I'm not a perve, and I didn't intentionally mean to embarrass her.
"I don't just set out and start my day thinking I want to get any celebrity topless.
"I once saw Keanu Reeves dancing in the nude on a balcony with a girl, and just decided not to shoot them, as I didn't think at the time that anyone would run those pictures."
Barton has publicly slammed Fawcett for disrupting her holiday with her mother Nuala.
The pair also clashed again at Hamilton Island Airport where they were booked on the same flight.
Fawcett said Barton tried to change her flight, but she was unsuccessful.
He added that he personally contacted her publicist to tell her he would leave Barton alone on her flight.
He said: "I left her alone on the plane, and we didn't speak at all after that."
Fawcett's clash with Barton comes after she was photographed earlier this year while overseas with "dimply thighs".
