The main reason for sudden jump in popularity were a couple of photos she took during her recent trip in Japan which she shared with her friend on her private Facebook account, but someone leaked them to the rest of the internet.
One of the photo shows her in a G-string bikini with a couple of friends. Some speculate that the two friends in the photo might be her Game of Thrones co-stars, Sophie Turner and Natalie Dormer.
I couldn’t find any references of these three going to Japan together, so that photo might not even be taken in Japan.
