Penélope took a short break from acting last year, but she’ll return with a new movie in September. The movie, which she also produced, is titled Ma ma. In it she’ll star in the role of Magda, a gutsy mother who battles to overcome tragedy.
The movie was directed and written by Julio Medem. His best known movies include Habitación en Roma, Caótica Ana, Lucía y el sexo, and most recently 7 días en La Habana.
Penelope presented the movie to potential buyers at Cannes film festival last year. She revealed a few aspects of the movie, but was mum on any details like if it will feature nudity like Medem’s previous works.
