I was doing some updates on the page of Austrian-born actress
Romy Schneider the other day. In the process I also checked
her biography, since I didn’t know much about her life… it’s tragic but an interesting read. Reading it, I found out that Sarah is Romy's daughter.
Romy is often referred to as Germany’s
Marilyn Monroe. (Hitler’s Anschluß of Austria happened slightly before she was born, so perhaps that’s why she’s considered to be of German heritage, apart from her mother being German as well… I don’t know, I am just guessing here).
She became famous with her portrayal of Empress Elisabeth of Austria in the romantic biopic Sissi and its two sequels. She was romantically involved with French actor Alain Delon. Their romance ended after five years in 1964 when Delon ended their engagement with a bouquet of roses and a farewell note reading: “Romy, my dearest, I’m sorry.”
It looks like the couple didn’t hold any grudges against each other after their relationship fell apart. In 1969 the couple was reunited on the big screen in the French crime movie La piscine and in 1972 they were working together again in the thriller The Assassination of Trotsky.
Romy got married twice during her life.
Sarah Biasini is Romy’s daughter from her second marriage with her private secretary Daniel Biasini. Before that she was married to German director Harry Meyen with whom she had a son, who died of tragic death at the age of 14.
Romy’s turbulent life ended in 1982 at the age of 43.
During her career Romy appeared nude in many movies. You can
get clips and caps of those at Mr. Skin. Her nude pictorials were also featured in many magazines such as Playboy, LUI and Playmen among others. And because of her fame, paparazzi photographers were also tracking her most of the time. She was photographed naked a few times by Daniel Angeli, who at that time, was considered to be “the king of the paparazzi” photographers.
When doing the updates on Romy’s page I noticed I didn’t have any caps from her movie Une femme a sa fenetre yet. I guess it was for a reason, all I could notice was just a slight areola slip during one scene.
