I finally got myself a tablet. Since it’s and Android tablet (Asus TF700T), my first plan was to learn how to write apps for my new toy. Learning curve for android programing is rather steep, so I decided to start with something simpler instead.
Learning how to make Interactive PDFs was the next step. And since PDFs are also cross-platform independent, meaning that you can also read them on iPads, it seemed like a good idea. Creating PDFs proved to be much easier than programing Android apps, but new problems quickly popped up. Probably the most difficult problem to figure out was, or still is because I still haven’t figured it out, how to display a full page portrait photo on a tablet. Each time you I would turn the tablet to see the photo in portrait mode, the screen would turn around. Probably the only solution for this is to turn your head like an owl… or disabling motion sensors on your tablet might work as well.
While interactivity in PDFs does work, it is still very limited. You can for example make simple forms, page transitions, include videos and music in PDFs…, but when you open this interactive PDFs on your tablet, most of the interactivity is suddenly gone. Just frustrating!
Hopefully, more and more features will be supported on the tablet readers in the future, so that all the hours I’ve put in learning how to make interactive PDFs won’t go in vain.
So, here’s my first interactive PDF titled 2013 Blockbuster Babes. Starting with G.I. Joe: Retaliation, starring
Adrianne Palicki and
Elodie Yung. I was actually able to read this PDF not just on my tablet but on my Android phone as well, worked like I charm. So I am quite happy with the outcome. I hope you’ll like it as well.
Hopefully, I’ll have the time and will to make more of these PDFs, I counted some 25 potential blockbusters scheduled to be release this year. The plan is to make similar PDFs for Oblivion, Iron Man 3, The Great Gatsby, Star Trek Into Darkness, Fast & Furious 6, The Hangover Part III, Man of Steel, This Is the End, World War Z, White House Down, The Lone Ranger, Pacific Rim, The Wolverine, 300: Rise of an Empire, Elysium, Kick-Ass 2, Riddick, Machete Kills, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Ender's Game, Thor: The Dark World, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Jack Ryan…
