I decided to add some nude celebrity appearances from the 70s' movies to the database. The main source for additions were Sex in Cinema articles from Playboy magazine and I also cross-referenced their stuff with
Mr. Skin, who has an extensive amount of nude appearances from that period in his database.
It would be nice to know what source did the writers of the Playboy use for their articles though... For instance, I noticed a couple of interesting scenes in one of the article, one was of
Francine York topless from Cannon for Cordoba and the other one was of
Gwenn Mitchellfrom Shaft. The reason they stood out was because I couldn't find any other source for the photos they used for the article, and when I noticed that both movies are available on DVD, I decided to do the humanity a favor by making some new caps of these nude scenes. I got my hands on both DVDs, but imagine my surprise, and disappointment, when neither of those two scenes were in the movie.
I am not sure how or why. There might be different versions of Cannon for Cordoba out there, imdb lists runtime of 104 minutes for the movie, while the version I watched was only 99 minutes.
As for the Gwenn Mitchell's nude scene from Shaft that was described and depicted in the article, I doubt there was one in the movie. I once read an article that Playboy would often have photographers on the set of a movie and they would try to persuade the actresses to pose for some photos for the magazine... or say goodbye to their Hollywood dreams, and usually they succeeded in taking some photos.
So, in short, adding these old appearances to the database proved to be quite a challenge. I imagined it would be an easy job, but in reality it got very frustrating, mainly because I was not being able to find many of the scenes they were describing in the actual movies.
Someone noticed these additions and made a request for Marlyn Mason's nude scene from the 1971 movie Making It. I tried to find the movie, but I guess that it's not available in any form at the moment.
