"Whenever your agent calls up and says there's an audition and there's nudity required, it is always the very first thing they tell you," she said.
"And usually you read it and go, 'No, not relevant,' or, 'Tacky'. Often that is the case and you say no.
"As soon as I read this episode, it made complete sense. I believed in it. It was very tasteful and I understood exactly what this couple were representing.
"Stella's in love with this beautiful strong American and then the reality is that this boy is going (back to war) and he might die."
