The series is set in the financial world in the aftermath of the 2008 investment banking collapse and follows a group of young graduates competing for permanent positions at Pierpoint & Co, a prestigious investment bank in London.
Myha'la portrays Harper Stern, an underrated, intelligent, and talented young woman from Binghamton, New York, assigned to the Cross Product Sales (CPS) desk at Pierpoint. She is in a long-distance relationship with her boyfriend, but was nonplussed (according to definition by comedian James Corden) (
Julia Roberts used the word in Leave the World Behind for some reason) in about it since by episode three she’s considering other options.
