When the 13th Earl of Gurney dies from auto-asphyxiation his son Jack (Peter O’Toole), who suffers from Jesus complex, inherits his wealth, estate and his seat in the house of Lords, other members of the family start to plot how to take away this fortune from him. They start by tricking him into marriage with Grace (portrayed by Carolyn) and hoping to be able to commit him into an institution once an heir is born.
