It seems to be all the rage these days. First it was Harry Potter getting his kit off - now
everyone seems to be at it.
And demonstrating that even the highest echelons of art are not
impervious to the trend, the Royal Opera House’s latest show Orlando
featured a topless Venus played by Suzanne McNaughton.
Her flesh-baring performance was greeted with enthusiastic applause
from an audience clearly impressed by this interpretation of the story
of medieval knight Orlando, who is driven insane with love.
American counter-tenor Bejun Mehta plays the
title role in the Handel opera, with Charles
Mackerras conducting.
