California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has wreaked his revenge on the state's paparazzi, who once ran him and his family off the road during a chase, by introducing a new law. The former movie star passed a new year bill restricting hardcore photographers from harming the public. The bill, which became law on January 1, makes anyone who commits assault in an attempt to get a photograph/video recording liable to pay triple damages and give up profits from the photograph. Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Bill Hodgman, who advised
Reese Witherspoon when she recently filed charges against an over-zealous paparazzi who ruined a family trip to Disneyland, welcomes the new law. Hodgman urges all celebrities who become victims of ruthless photographers to contact his office. He says, "We encourage them to come to us with their complaints and then co-operate with us in an effort to bring these people to justice."

There will be no more Playboy. Or at least no more Playboy as we know it, sort of; the magazine is now concocting plans to launch an Indian edition, complete with models and pin ups who will be clothed to suit Indian norms and laws.
Apparently nobody reads Playboy for the articles anymore, and few Americans even read the magazine at all; in 2004 magazine sales shrank one percent domestically, while sales rose by 13 percent abroad. The magazine’s parent company’s primary sources of revenue are extra-literary — video games, porn, DVDs, television, and the like. The answer, then, is to sell overseas, and with approximately 200 million people reading magazines, India should be a prime target. Except that India bans having or peddling goods of “lascivious or appeals to the prurient interest,” barring material that can be redeemed by virtue of its value as art, literature, or religious content. And Playboy, as we know it, certainly fails all three of those criteria.
So what will Playboy look like without its signature nude playmates? Playboy Enterprises' Chief Executive Christie Hefner stated that the Indian magazine, which may not even be called Playboy, “would be an extension of Playboy that would be focused around the lifestyle, pop culture, celebrity, fashion, sports and interview elements of Playboy.”
The idea is, apparently, that sex doesn’t haven’t to be American, or even western, to sell. Good luck, Playboy.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is on the cover of one of the best selling international men's magazine Maxim in its first Indian edition.
The actress looks ravishing in a red revealing outfit on the cover of the Britain-based magazine, which proposes to rope in other Bollywood actresses in the months to come.
Maxim is the first international men's lifestyle magazine to enter India.
Under a license agreement with Media Transasia in India, this is the 30th international edition of the magazine. The glossy, priced at Rs. 60, will provide information on celebrities, sports, movies and the auto industry.
It has printed 80,000 copies, a huge jump over the 25,000-30,000 copies usually printed in launch forays.
The magazine hit the stand on Dec 28 and is available in major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore.
