All readers needed to do was buy a copy of the weekly magazine, slice open the edges of the sealed pages, and viola -- a photo of the mystery sportswoman in the flesh, albeit with her face blurred.
The woman was indeed completely naked, facing the camera while flashing the peace sign with both hands. According to Flash, as well as Asahi Geino, which also ran the photo, it had been circulated by a former boyfriend and taken in the bathroom of a love hotel.
So, during the following several days, readers were left to wonder -- who was this obviously young and very fit woman. Figure skater Miki Ando sprang to many people's minds. Or maybe skier Aiko Uemura?
Shukan Gendai steps in to reveal the answer: golfer
Ai Miyazato. The magazine knows this because it had obtained the original photo, in which the face is plain to see. Ranking sixth in the world, 21-year-old Miyazato is undoubtedly one of Japan's most famous sports celebrities.
But is the photo genuine?
Most of the experts Shukan Gendai speaks with say no, no doubt to the disappointment of Miyazato's many male fans.
Takafumi Suzuki, a professional photo analyst, concludes that the manipulation in the image goes well beyond some blurring of the face. The image appears to be a composite, with the head stuck on the body of another shapely young woman.
"In the photo, the tiles in the background are in focus, while the body is a bit blurry. So then why is the face in focus?" he says.
Other inconsistences include the way light is reflected in the bathroom mirror, Suzuki points out.
As to why someone would create and then give such a photo to the media, the answer likely involves a very serious grudge against the famous golfer.
But, believe it or not, that news wouldn't come as a surprise to anyone familiar with Japan's professional women's golf scene, according to the magazine. Ai, it turns out, is deeply resented by many of her colleagues.
"There's a lot of behind-the-scenes bullying going on, and it's particularly bad toward Ai," says an anonymous source, described as someone who takes part in the pro golf tour in Japan. "People do all sorts of things to her, such as breaking her umbrella or hiding her clothes right before the tournaments get under way."
Who might be the bullies? Namely other female golfers on the tour who are considerably older than Ai and not nearly as popular, the source speculates.
"For players in their 30s, even if they win a championship they'll see Ai grabbing the headlines in the sports papers the next day. . . . The photo seems to be just another part of this bullying."
Clearly, behind the naked truth of Flash's controversial photo lie some nasty truths in the world of Japanese professional sports.

Daniela Denby-Ashe, everyones dream girl from next door in

drama Torchwood this week.

the female members of Captain Jacks crew (played by Naoko Mori). Not really
nudity, but still, quite an interesting storyline so far I think you’ll agree
for Daniela to be involved in! "One for the boys" is one way I have
heard this episode described as the sex leads to trying to infiltrate Torchwood.
Just incase you’ve just arrived from the other side of the
galaxy and missed all the hype, Torchwood is a "spin off" of the
institution that is Doctor Who. It’s an organisation above the law that deals
with alien encounters in the early part of the twenty first century and the
programme allows, with its later timed broadcast, more stronger content
including - yes - matters of a sexual nature!
An earlier episode may well have produced the best girl on
girl screen kiss on Uk tv this year, as the new recruit to the team (played by
Eve Myles) was trapped in a holding cell with a girl whose body was taken over
by another alien life force that needed to survive off, ahem!, well
"orgasmic energy"! When she snogged it out with Eve, she found it was
no good trying it with women, but made very pleasant viewing for all those
watching!
It may well cause debate among those loyal to the great
original programme with the Tardis, but I tried to just settle into watching it
regardless and find it alright, so far, as it tries to make an impact in the

guesting) is on BBC Three tonight, Sunday, at 10pm.
Its repeated later in the week on Wednesday night on BBC2 and Friday night on
BBC Three again - both after nine.

'Harry Potter' film actress
Emma Watson has said she would do a nude scene in a future film or stage role if the script called for it. Watson got on the topic of getting naked on BBC's Live Five radio programme when asked what she thinks about fellow 'Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe going full frontal in next year's stage production of Peter Shaffer's 'Equus'. She told interviewer Simon Mayo the following:
"I think it's wonderful that Daniel is willing to be so brave for his craft. It's a big risk doing something like this while being so internationally known, but he's a true professional".
When asked if she would ever bare all for her art, Watson replied, "Yes, absolutely. I would do it if the script called for it. I guess I would be a little nervous, but I've been told I look good naked, so I guess I've got little to worry about".
When Shaffer asked Watson who thinks she looks good naked, she playfully said, "Now, now! I won't say. But I trust his expert opinion".

An Iranian actor at the centre of a video sex scandal has spoken for the first time publicly to deny being a collaborator in the now notorious home-made film.
Zahra Amir Ebrahimi, one of Iran’s best known television performers, is facing social ostracism, a wrecked career and a possible lashing after police seized copies of the footage, which appears to show her having sex.
The film, which has been distributed in street markets and posted on websites, has caused profound shock at a time when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Islamist government is trying to banish the “corrupting” effects of western culture.
It has been given added impact by Ebrahimi’s reputation for playing religious, morally upstanding characters in Iranian state TV soaps. One highly successful series, Narges, was watched by an estimated 68% of the population.
Police interrogated Ebrahimi at length after being alerted to the film’s existence. She has not been charged but investigations are continuing.
However, in an exclusive interview with the Guardian, Ebrahimi, 25, denied being the woman in the film. She dismissed it as a fake made by a vengeful former fiance who used studio techniques to form a montage of incriminating images designed to destroy her career.
“I watched the film after I heard about the fuss from colleagues and the girl in it is not me,” Ebrahimi said.
“I admit there are some similarities to the character I played in Narges. It is possible to use studio make-up to have a person look like me. I have some knowledge of montage techniques and I know you can create a new face by distorting the features of another person.”
Legal experts say Ebrahimi’s denial may be sufficient to avoid punishment. Under Iranian law, video footage must be corroborated by supporting evidence or a confession. According to the legal code, sex between two unmarried people carries punishment of up to 99 lashes.
Ebrahimi’s ex-fiance, an assistant film producer who has been referred to publicly only as Mr X, is in custody after being extradited from Armenia. He faces up to three years in jail and a L6,000 fine if found guilty of making and distributing the film, which contravenes Iran’s strict indecency laws.
He admits taking part but claims that Ebrahimi suggested the film, which he says was shot in her home, and then distributed it herself. However, in a 45-minute interview, Ebrahimi - wearing a hijab and a long woollen coat - said her former fiance threatened revenge after she ended their relationship a year ago because of his infidelity. “He had a lot of affairs and our relationship ended in a very immoral way,” she said. “He said he would do something that would mean I would be unable to hold my head up and would prevent me ever working again in Iran. I think this film is him trying to put his threats into action.”
An estimated 100,000 copies have been circulating in the last two months. The accompanying publicity has prompted some parents to voice concern that their children have asked to see the film, which has been dubbed Narges II.
Private films showing sex scenes are not uncommon in Iran. However, Ebrahimi’s high profile and the ongoing cultural clean-up campaign have prompted a sensitive reaction from the authorities. Tehran’s chief prosecutor, Saeed Mortazavi, has ordered police to conduct a special investigation and wants death sentences for those convicted of circulating such productions.
Ebrahimi acknowledged that she had been emotionally upset but denied reports that the affair had driven her to attempt suicide. Her acting career is in jeopardy amid reports that her employers are considering dropping her.
But Ebrahimi, who comes from a religious family, said the heaviest burden came from being accused of immorality in a religious society. “According to the moral norms of Iranian society, it is very damaging for this film to be distributed under my name,” she said. “If you look at my professional resume, you will see that I have taken part in mainly spiritual or religious films and programmes.
“My parents and I thought we were living in a society with common sense. Instead, we find that 90% of people are following this thing and taking it seriously. If people have a chance, they are curious about indecent and vulgar things.”

Nelly Furtado has revealed to MTV that she was once offered megabucks to pose for 'Playboy' magazine.
And although the singer turned it down - she says she still wouldn't rule it out.
"I (was) offered half a million dollars to pose fully clothed," she said. "(To do it would be a) vanity thing, an egotistical thing…It’s not to say that I would never do it. It’s intriguing, it’s very tempting. It’s got to be under the right terms. We will see what happens."
The 'Maneater' minx also revealed she's feeling at the peak of her sexiness these days.
The 28-year-old chanteuse said, "For me, I am a late bloomer. I have grown into my sexuality. Not with a false sexuality as a 20 year old.
