Colombian pop star
Shakira has pulled out of what would have been her movie debut in an adaptation of 'Love in the Time of Cholera' written by her friend Gabriel Garcia Marquez because she didn't want to appear nude in the film.
Shakira's official explanation for leaving the film was that there was conflict in schedules but the producer Scott Steindorff gave a different reason, contactmusic.com reports. The director revealed that Shakira did not want to bare all for the screen.
The singer now wants to make her debut after making careful considerations saying, 'The script, the character, the director, it all has to come together to assure me that I'll be protected. I have a responsibility to my public, so I don't want to get into something that could fail.'
However, she did not completely ditch the project and contributed by writing and recording the soundtrack.

Chantelle splashed out on the L4,000 op to make her feel sexy again after the breakdown of her ten-month marriage to 25-year-old Preston.
She wanted a boob job while they were together but he said fake boobs were a turn-off.
It was the final straw in their troubled marriage which saw Chantelle's weight plummet from a healthy size 12 to a skinny size 8.
She revealed: "We were rowing non-stop and my self-esteem was at rock-bottom. I lost two stone because all the stress brought on bulimia.
"I'd stand naked in front of the mirror and feel repulsed by my body. My boobs had always been small but they had all but vanished.
"I suggested a boob job but Preston just laughed and said fake breasts were grotesque."

Heather Mills has 10 secret tapes containing details about her sex life and bitter rows with estranged husband Sir Paul McCartney.
The former model - who recently claimed she had a “secret box of evidence” to use in her bitter divorce from The Beatles legend – claims the recordings prove Paul took Viagra pills to spice up their sex life, accepted blame for the breakdown of their marriage and mocked her disability.
A source told Britain’s News of the World newspaper: “Some of the details about their sex life will sicken a lot of people and make them see Paul in a different light.
“There are recordings Heather says prove Paul referred to her as a, ‘One-legged b***h’.
“She says it’s clear from the tape that Paul apologised for the marriage breakdown and for how he treated her.
“Heather believes these tapes will put the record straight and she isn’t scared to let these personal details get out.”

Lisa Ray, who plays a lesbian in Shamim Shariff's film, I Can't Think Straight, has shot a nude love-making scene with co-star Sheetal Sheth. The interesting part is that unlike other stars, who usually prefer to use a body double when it comes to doing scenes of this sort, Ray has done the scene herself.
Our source reveals, “The lovemaking scene between Lisa Ray and Sheetal is a crucial part of the story and is not about titillation. Lisa shot the scene without any inhibitions and preferred to do it herself for authenticity.” (A body double was used for filming the Nandita Das-Shabana Azmi lovemaking scene in Deepa Mehta's Fire).
Aseem Bajaj, the cinematographer of I Can't Think Straight, confirms that Lisa Ray shot the nude scene herself. “Yes, it is true that Lisa Ray has shot a lovemaking scene without using a body double. Of course, Ray had her share of fears and doubts on the day of the shooting but we completed it very comfortably. It was aesthetically shot!” Bajaj says.
Interestingly, Aseem Bajaj was the only male present during the filming of the nude scene. “It was a privilege to be the only male present, while shooting the lovemaking scene between the two women,” he says.
